Product FAQs
How can I get a spare or replacement part?
Sometimes things go wrong, and KINYING is here to make them right! Whether you have opened the box and discovered a missing or broken part, or your Keter item needs parts to restore its use, we are eager to assist. The easiest way for you to reach out is via the Contact Us form.
Is there any preparation needed before I assemble my shed?
You’ll want to have a flat, level surface before the setup of any KINYING products.
For large items, like one of our storage sheds, we highly recommend having a foundation made of concrete or wood. You’ll also want to have space around all sides of the shed (60cm/2ft) for proper assembly. This will help you get a step ladder all the way around and have the proper space for the assembly of your storage shed.
We also recommend that you assemble the shed where it will be kept permanently because of its size and weight. In addition, you are responsible for the build-out and siting of your items.
What do the shed dimensions represent?
The dimensions of each shed on our website note the maximum height, width and depth of each item. Because of the overhang on the eaves of our storage sheds, the width and depth dimensions shown are therefore not identical to the footprint.
We also list the flooring dimensions of each outdoor shed in the front of the assembly instructions as well as on the website product pages. That way if you want to lay concrete on another base for the shed, you’ll have all the information you need.
What tools are necessary to assemble KINYING products?
One of the best things about our products is they are designed to be easy to assemble. No DIY skills required. They’re also very quick to put together. Our deck storage boxes can be put together in minutes, while almost all of our Store-It-Out storage sheds can usually be built inside an hour. Even our very largest sheds can usually be constructed in roughly half a day.
Each product has guidance and recommendations as well as the tools required in the assembly instructions. This can be found at the bottom of the product page. To give you a better idea of the tools needed for each item:
Our highly popular Store-It-Out series requires only a screwdriver, power drill, and protective gloves for quick self-assembly.
Our garden sheds similarly require only standard household tools, including a screwdriver, power drill, mallet, adjustable spanner, and a stepladder. We recommend the use of safety gloves and goggles for added protection.
Many of our deck storage boxes involve simple, click-together assembly. The remainder needs only a screwdriver and protective gloves.
Finally, our patio furniture sets come complete with a turn-key and therefore require no additional hand tools to complete the job.
Additionally, all of our products come with the necessary fixtures and fittings. So, there are no extra screws, etc. to buy.
All of this makes for a hassle-free solution that saves you time!
Do I need a permit to build my shed?
This depends on where you live. In some places, local zoning rules may require a permit, inspection, or similar requirements to install an outdoor storage shed. As such, we can’t tell you the requirements in your specific area because local rules vary.
Please be sure to check with your local building authority or regulator. Don’t forget to also check HOA rules, historic preservation restrictions, etc. You are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary approvals and ensuring your product installation and use complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
